Ryan Serhant, Real Estate Tycoon or Just Another Influencer….
Real Estate Career Achievements
Ryan Serhant, born July 2, 1984, is a wildly successful Real Estate agent in New York City. He seems to have everything! He has a lot of different avenues that contribute to his success, from large career achievements, closing nearly $10 billion real estate deals, to being one of the most recognized real estate brands in the world, with over 8+ million followers in the world across all platforms. Serhant is an accomplished author of three books that focus on teaching others how to expand their personal brands, sell real estate, and market themselves. On top of all of that, Serhant has made a name for himself on television as a personality and a producer on shows such as Million Dollar Listing New York, Selling it Like Serhant, and Owning Manhatten. According to Serhant.com, he also has a YouTube channel and a listed network that produces high-end lifestyle content that features real estate agents on the rise. According to TheTime, “His real estate firm even has an in-house production team for social media, and trains agents on building their brand in the new digital economy.” All that makes him a real estate tycoon, but is that all?
Philanthropy and Family
You would think with the books, TV, Social Media, and running a real estate empire, Serhant wouldn’t have time for anything else, but you would be sadly mistaken. Serhant has had many charitable works, including but not limited to City Harvest, Feeding America, NYC Sanitation Foundation, and American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign as their national ambassador. “Ryan wore pink every day in October, raised funds, and dedicated his global social platforms to spreading critical information to help fight the disease. In total, the 2021 campaign raised over $12 million.” (Serhant.com) Serhant also has a family. He was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated from Hamilton College in 2006 with degrees in English Literature and Theatre. Serhant actually had a small television role on As the World Turns! He currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his lovely wife Emilia Bechrakis-Serhant and their daughter, Zena, making Serhant a family man as well. What can’t he do?
So, Real Estate Tycoon or Influencer ??
As I did my research on Ryan Serhant, I would personally come to the conclusion that he is neither. Serhant is an everything man. From family to Philanthropy, author to TV personality, and obviously a very successful real estate mogul. I don’t think that Serhant can be put in a box; he is breaking the mold on what it means to be an influencer. He is relevant, determined, authentic, and smart in the way he and his team market his brand. “SERHANT. is a content-to-commerce, mobile-first real estate ecosystem with a first-of-its-kind in-house film studio for organic lead generation, creating customer acquisition for its two core businesses: brokerage and education. In its first year of business, the firm solidified its position as one of the top real estate companies in New York City. It became the most followed real estate brand in the world, amassing over 8 million followers across all social platforms.” (serhant.com) Serhant has used every marketing strategy there is, and he will undoubtedly come up with more. With the empire that he is building through every outlet he can find, it seems that he will have continued success for many years to come. Ryan Serhant is an inspiration to real estate agents around the globe. I do not believe that his strategies in the market, advertising, or otherwise can be altered to make him more successful, but is it to much? “Ryan is on a mission to revolutionize the real estate industry, give back, and share his formula for success to enable and motivate others.” (serhant.com) In the coming years, we might see something different coming from Serhant. According to Realtor.com, a quote from Ryan implies he might have too much on his plate. “However, it seems the "pressure" of running a luxury real estate agency, combined with wrangling a team of agents and starring in his own reality series, has become too much for Serhant to bear. "I just feel like there is so much pressure sometimes, I just can't take it," Serhant says as he wipes tears from his eyes at one point. This just goes to show that you never can tell what’s going on in some of our favorite influencers’ worlds.
